"almost inevitable possibility"? Is there some possibility if safeguards are not in place? Sure. There's a huge difference between the two, however.
Carity work is good. Performing charity work with a complete lack of common sense is not.
      Sure.
I also think that charity work should be left up to individual citizens rather than being made into government policy.
In general, I quite agree with you. In the case of immigration for humanitarian reasons, however, that falls under the purview of the government IMO.

How can individual citizens do something about rescuing refugees from ISIS?

Boniface VIII, the pope who sided against Dante's White Guelphs and was the focus of much of his ire in "The Inferno", was the lowest-placed pope and was prophesied to fit in the Eighth Circle. Boniface is destined to be punished as a simonist, a person who pays to receive that which is holy.

I will hunt for the article I was reading about it, but pretty much it was pointing out that a significant number of the "syrian refugees" are from other countries, and are pretty much using it as an easy in to get into the EU and other countries.
This means that the legitimate refugees are getting bumped by the fake ones. (a reporter managed to get a Syrian passport for US$1000 meaning he could claim to be a refugee).

That's a different situation than refugees arriving in the United States; refugees (Syrian or otherwise) can get into the EU and must be housed in the EU while they are being processed. Since the USA is across the Atlantic, however, it's only receiving those refugees who have already been processed and validated for resettlement by UNHCR (~1% of refugees).

Trump's statement was that he had a message for all the refugees that would be coming to the United States: if and when he's president, he's sending them back:

Source: Donald Trump: I would send Syrian refugees home. BBC News. 2015.10.01

On Wednesday night, Mr Trump told an audience at Keene High School: "I hear we want to take in 200,000 Syrians. And they could be - listen, they could be Isis [Islamic State]."

Describing them as a "200,000-man army", he later added: "I'm putting the people on notice that are coming here from Syria as part of this mass migration, that if I win, if I win, they're going back."

The video has been deleted from youtube (original uploader's account has been closed) so won't play from the article either.

It's not the video from the YouTube account but housed on BBC.com -- played for me both times I tried just now so you should be good.

That's the one I recall as well.
Worst in my mind is that he was the pope who issued in 1303 (04?) the most infamous of all papal bulls, Unam Sanctam, which asserted universal jurisdiction of the pope over all the world and all men's souls, that each person's salvation required adherence to the pope.

Yes, almost inevitable. Terrorists have announced their intent and have already been caught trying to sneak in as refugees (the real question is, how many haven't been caught?).

We let refugees into the US and we're going to get terrorists coming along for the ride. It's not a matter of if. Do we really want to take that kind of risk? I don't.

Refugees to the US don't come here by attempting to cross the border. Speaking of which, it would probably be easier to get into Mexico and walk across than try to get all the paperwork filled out to become an official refugee.

A change in foreign policy is a government function and literally not something an individual citizen or a private charity can do, so no, your point made little sense.

If they don't get arrested in Mexico which has very strict laws contra illegal immigration.
