I think it's a brilliant stunt that exposes the hypocrisy of the religious right in the US: Where they insist that children absolutely have to be born once conceived, regardless of whether the mother has the financial resources to care properly for the child, and then they advocate for economic policies to take away financial support from such people and oppress the poor, apparently doing their best to maximize the suffering of the child once it's born. Demanding money from them to prevent the abortion beautifully cuts through their hypocrisy on this issue.

I'm 24. So technically my post about you being old enough to be my grandpa was correct. You would have been around 37-38 years old when I was born. Young, but still well within the range of plausibility.
