She was in the room so I'm just going with her take as she states explicitly in the linked video. If he had left off the part about "disgusting people" I'd be a bit more amenable to your interpretation, though I think joking that COVID could be a good thing, under any circumstances, is beyond the pale for a president. It would be beyond the pale for any politician, for that matter. Find me another elected official who has said something like that and I'll condemn them for sure.
