  • General Milley apoligizes.

General Milley, Joint Chief of Staff, breaks with Trump and apoligizes, saying he was wrong for accompanying Trump through Lafayette Square for a Photo-op.

    http://www.latimes.com/world-nation/...on-church-walk

In his speach to the Nanational Defense University commencment ceremony, Milley said "as a commisioned uniformed officer it was a mistake that I have learned from, and I sincerely hope we can all learn from it."

Will Gen. Milley be the next to go? I don't think so this close to the election, Trump can't afford to expose his athoritarian nature more so than he already has this close to the election. But if he wins, my money would be on Gen Milley being fired shortly thereafter.

This whole thing is a tempest in a teapot.
Some may call me foolish, and some may call me odd
But I'd rather be a fool in the eyes of man
Than a fool in the eyes of God

Sounds like a classic, "ooops, that didn't go like I thought, let me try to save my own bacon".
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Milley and every General who wants to change the names of Forts needs to be fired...

They can change the name from St. Petersburg to Fort Leningrad. And then when reason returns to the land, they can change it back to St. Petersburg.

            OK, that made me laugh.

Honoring those that fought for the cause of slavery is - to many of those whose ancestors were once slaves, and many whose ancestors were not - a symbol of the continued support for the oppression of black people in America. It's time we all recognized the mistake of fighting to preserve that institution or even the right to preserve that institution.
My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. James 2:1

If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not  bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless James 1:26

This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; James 1:19

Leningrad actually withstood a 900 day siege and never fell during WW2. You could do worse as a fort name-wise.

                      I do!

Why are they suddenly injecting themselves? Overnight, did they turn into commie liberal socialists?

They have been talking about going after the statues of Washington, Jefferson, and Madison. They are destroying statues of Columbus - where will it end Jim?

I'm ex military, back in the day no military leader would have publicly contradicted the president like that. It wasn't acceptable. If they did they were usually demoted or fired on the spot.

There are plenty of examples of military leaders criticizing a sitting president. It's always done carefully, and as a last resort.

Back in the day we didn't have wannabe dictators in the oval office. Milley was being compliant, loyal to the president, and probably would have remained so if others in the military didn't call him out on it.
