Then it was justifiably removed. False and dangerous information should, at the very least, be tagged as such.
The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy...returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Martin Luther King

In the beginning, Fauci started off with this "don't wear face masks" notion.

The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

A friend of mine did "marital relationship" talks, and he used "crockpot" as a metaphor for how women "warm up" to intimacy, and men are more like microwave ovens - instant on.

I think he was nervous about the topic, because he kept pronouncing "crockpots" "crackpots".

It's funny how everyone just seems to ignore Fauci's blatant flip-flops on these issues. Until it's brought up of course.

He's being used like - "OK, here's something we want to push, and Fauci said....."

I have to wonder how much this was motivated by the shortage in PPE and the desire to keep people from hoarding them and keeping them from the front-line workers.

I have long been an advocate of the "women are crackpots" philosophy...

I'm sure that was his intent, but when you're a national figure, you can't just say stuff like that and expect it to be understood as intended. If that was his intent, he should have made it more clear.

(people still claim that Trump told people to inject bleach into their blood veins)

Fact is, it's out there for people to cite and quote and reference and.... I DO think there's a sense of Fauci enjoying thinking he's "the smartest guy in the room", and he loves to hear himself talk.

(That's why I like his livestreams from home - where he reasonably IS the smartest guy in the room! )

I've admired how Fauci conducts himself with this from the outset. He is willing to contradict Trump, and he is willing to say "we didn't get it right." He is willing to change his stance when circumstances change. I've never gotten a "full of himself" vibe from him, as I have with so many others in the public spotlight. He often strikes me as "the adult in the room."

The creep factor of Fauci is apparent to me when he appears in the news.

Perhaps you should beware "confirmation bias."

I have no idea what this "creep factor" is based on.

What is the 'creep factor,' and specifically what is your objection to Fauci. As far is the history of his description of the pandemic he is a scientist an immunologist and what he has stated reflects scientific research.

                              Because?

He is willing to contradict Trump,

and he is willing to say "we didn't get it right."
It's not always admirable for somebody in the national media to admt they didn't get something right when it's glaringly obvious that they didn't.

He is willing to change his stance when circumstances change.
                              He really has no choice.

Because he stands up to Trump.

Because he's measured, admits when errors have been made, is consistent about pointing to the science as the area where he is proficient while acknowledging that other concerns have to be considered in decision-making, and I have yet to catch him in a fabrication. These days, the latter is saying something.

I guess that's why your president doesn't bother admitting he got something wrong even when it is glaringly obvious he didn't and just doubles down instead...

There is always a choice, CP. The current state of our country pretty much demonstrates that.

No - because he exhibits the characteristics I would expect from an adult. With this current administration, I find it refreshing. I have a similar response to Birx. Others that evoke that response include Newsom and Cuomo, though both of them are politicians and subject to the usual political "bad habits."

It's possible I have those responses to Birx and Fauci because they are scientists and I respect their evidence-based approach.
