  • It's basically a characteristic of respiratory illnesses that they are less severe or fade away during summer months. Most of the medical experts on TV have been saying they expect the same with COVID-19, and think that is why it is slower in the southern hemisphere and tropical zones right now. They expect it to pick up as they head into fall and winter and lessen as we move into summer.

The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy...returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Martin Luther King

          • Donald Trump has appointed Michael Caputo into the HHS. Caputo's previous accomplishments include polishing the image of Mr. Putin for the American audience.

Somehow the appointment seems to sum up Trump's policy strategies, rely on media savvy operatives instead of professional policy wonks.

Who needs science when you can provide spin? (another reason why science does not matter!)

If I had the skill, I would redraw this cartoon featuring an anthropomorphic donkey, and on the spinner, every option would be scratched out with "Trump" scrawled in its place.

. . . possibly because Trump will not take responsibility for anything.

That's not true at all, Shuny! He takes responsibility for anything GOOD!
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

                      Pretty much my thoughts...

As I've said many times, Mr. Trump has two mantras he lives by:

                      1) The buck stops there, but any credit comes here.
                      2) If Obama touched it in any way, it has to go.

                            Sweet irony.
"The man from the yacht thought he was the first to find England; I thought I was the first to find Europe. I did try to found a heresy of my own; and when I had put the last touches to it, I discovered that it was orthodoxy."

Actually, he does. What he doesn't take responsibility for are the nasty, false accusations thrust on him by liberals as exemplified recently by certain members of the media taking every opportunity to ask the President and the China flu taskforce what it felt like to have blood on their hands. When they declined to answer or accept the false premise behind the question, the narrative was spun to, "Trump won't take responsibility for his decisions!"

And carpe's mantra seems to be "I love the straw man fallacy."
