As the country comes out of lockdown, and the politicians say that the danger has passed, and people go back to their old habits, the infection rate will pick up again, and after a few weeks, the death rate will turn sharply upwards. All this is totally predictable. You will see it by the end of June.

All the effort from the past 2 months of lockdown is going into the incinerator as we speak.

London: An Oxford University vaccine trial has only a 50 per cent chance of success because coronavirus is fading so rapidly in Britain, a project co-leader has warned.
The warning comes as new data reveals that there are now 224 vaccines in development around the world - almost double the total of just a month ago.
The race to produce a vaccine could be hampered by falling virus rates, scientists warn.
Professor Adrian Hill said an upcoming Oxford vaccine trial, involving 10,000 volunteers, threatened to return "no result" because of low transmission of COVID-19 in the community.

It's hilarious that the report is trying to make this sound like bad news. Some may call me foolish, and some may call me odd

Of course that doesn't fit the fear mongers' narrative, so they try to make it sound like an inexplicably bad thing. Some may call me foolish, and some may call me odd

In the U.S., we hit our 10-day running average peak on 4/11 at 31,965 new confirmed cases. In the six weeks since then, we have only dropped back to 22,194. It took us only 9 days to climb from a 10-day running average of 20,062 to 31,965, and after six weeks we still have not dropped back down to that number.
Pointing to a few countries that have seen a drop in cases as proof that we are "past this thing" when the global numbers tell a different story is like pointing to one glacier that is advancing to prove "global warming is not happening" when the vast majority of glaciers are actually in retreat. It is an example of selectively choosing data to affirm a narrative - something you do (and are called out on) on a regular basis. The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy...returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Martin Luther King

Are you really this stupid MM? Anytime we get to the data or the numbers, you seem to just completely lose a capacity for reason. Is the only thing you are capable of doing is reading breitbart of fox and then echoing whatever line they feed you? I'm giving you the numbers - the actual data. I'm not going to some news source and feeding you their particular spin.My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. James 2:1

The US is now officially over 100,000 deaths due to the corona-virus. We are still adding about 20,000 cases per day. And our numbers appear to have stopped their decline in what appears to be a response to 'reopening'. Georgia, Alabama, Florida, California are seeing rising numbers. California, once a purported 'anomaly' state is seeing a steady rise since April and is now at or near 100,000 cases.

We had a lot of people out pretending all is well this weekend. So, based on a 5 day average incubation, stay tuned and look for increases in the daily active case counts beginning the end of this week and continuing through mid June with increases in death rates delayed a week or two from that.Last edited by oxmixmudd; 05-26-2020, 11:52 AM.My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism.
