It doesn't seem fair to have KingsGambit having to defend the ambiguous use of a reference so I'll jump back in for a second:
The current administration's policies toward immigrants and asylum seekers, even and much more than that of administrations before it, is predicated not only on unwelcoming inhospitality but on violence. Whether we're talking about the kidnapping of children from families, the inhumane detention of asylum-seekers, the cruel 'metering' bottleneck intended to leave immigrants stranded along a dangerous Mexican border, or the mental, physical, and sexual abuses rife in such settings, we are talking about a nation that is not only unwelcoming toward poor and needy strangers but violent against them.
It is shameful to all Christians that this even needs explained or that it is considered a matter of partisan debate. Sodom's sin was violent. So, too, is America's.

The border situation has exactly nothing to do with biblical notions of hospitality, which were applicable to temporarily welcoming a reasonable number of people.
I'm guessing that you wouldn't welcome everyone who wanted to take up residence in your house either, which is a better approximation to the border problem.Veritas vos Liberabit<>< Learn Greek <>< Look here for an Orthodox Church in America<><Ancient Faith Radio

I waffled a good bit on whether or not to post this, but...
I hope the irony of a pro-choice, gay-affirming Christian talking about chucking Bibles at people's heads and chiding other Christians over obvious Scriptural principles is not lost on anyone.I DENOUNCE DONALD J. TRUMP AND ALL HIS IMMORAL ACTS.

Not pro-choice; recognition of a constitutional right does not earn the designation of "pro". Similar to how the recognition of free speech doesn't make one "pro" libel.
But I hope those who find irony in a "pro-choice", LGBTQ-affirming Christian chiding others over obvious Scriptural principles will at least examine whether they are upholding those obvious Scriptural principles or supporting those who would disregard and disobey them. Plenty of other people are paying attention.
