Since when did Andrew Jackson found the Democrats? He may have started its association with the working class, and changed it in significant ways, but the Democrats (initially known as Democrat-Republicans) were around from the beginning.Veritas vos Liberabit<>< Learn Greek <>< Look here for an Orthodox Church in America<><Ancient Faith Radio

After Andrew Jackson lost to John Quincy Adams in the election of 1824, Jackson's supporters created their own organization to get him elected. After Jackson's election in 1828, that organization became known as the Democratic Party. The National Republicans eventually coalesced into the Whig Party.

Considering Thomas Jefferson's beliefs concerning limited government (especially the federal government), tracing their roots back to him has always been a stretch.
Anywho... From their article "History of the United States Democratic Party"
From History.com:
And there's this from ThoughtCo.:
And from Google:

Keep that tin foil hat securely tight, Jimmy. In reality land, unemployment is at its lowest levels in decades with more jobs than people to fill them. Where was the lie at again?Last edited by JimL; 06-21-2019, 06:49 PM.
