The Al Aqsa fire didn't do extensive damage, but it did hit a section that dates back to Herod the Great's reign. Archaeologists might be wanting to have a rummage.

I still want to know how they were so quickly able to rule it an accident while the fire was still at its hottest. Did the worker who caused it come forward to confess?

I don't know if it was an accident or arson, but the timing is pretty suspicious. Right before Easter? A major Christian landmark in a city that has a history of terrorist attacks?

Not to mention - at a time when churches all over the country are being targetted. However ... the possibility of a concurrent unfortunate mishap can't be ignored. Waiting for investigations to be completed would not be inappropriate.

Yeah I don't know what happened and neither does anyone else at this moment. But usually on an actual terrorist attack someone will take credit for it. But then there are a bunch of loner nutjobs out there too that might not.

If it was an accident or negligence, some heads are gonna roll at the construction company.

Yeah, except they ruled it an accident before the fire was out, which seems a little suspicious.

I think they believe it was an accidental fire caused by a welder.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

They said it looked like an accident. They hadn't said anything for sure.

I hope they were able to get most of the priceless treasures out before the fire got to them.

One would hope there would have been a plan in place, or at least the presence of mind to remove valuables.

some of the stuff might be built-in, or too heavy to move easily, like statues and altars.
