Unfortunately, I don't see this being any more successful than the Texas law was.

It looks like Georgia will be passing the fetal heartbeat law.

I'm always still in trouble again

It's amazing that persons who support the murder of innocent babies call the heartbeat bill "evil". (I believe Scripture has something to say about that paradox)

You missed my hyperlink on "Scripture"? But, then again, it's worth reiterating.

The bible is so prescient. It's almost as if it were divinely inspired.

In stopping abortions, or in passing the Supreme Court? If it's the latter, it's tough to say. Kennedy voted to strike down the law, but he retired, and Kavanaugh's views are unclear. It wouldn't be the first time an abortion law extremely similar to one that was previously struck down was upheld after a justice swap, though; see Stenberg v. Carhart compared to Gonzales v. Carhart, after O'Connor was replaced by Alito.

I wonder, if the Supreme Court back in 1973 was aware that abortion would remain a major issue over 40 years later (perhaps "remain" isn't even the right word, as it's now a bigger political issue than it was back then), how different would their ruling have been?

Further, I wonder if they thought abortions would always be "safe and rare" in addition to being legal.

Well, the thing is, I doubt anyone on the Supreme Court at the time thought the case would become as important as it was (and it took a few years for furor to really start brewing against it). Even the dissenters (White and Rehnquist) in Roe v. Wade didn't seem to think the case was that big a deal, having a tone of "I think you guys are making a ridiculous decision, but whatever, you do you" and are remarkably short (6 pages and 2 pages) for what would become one of the most controversial cases in the history of the country. Contrast that with Rehnquist's later dissent nearly two decades later in Planned Parenthood v. Casey, which was 36 pages long, showing much more recognition that the issue was a big deal.

They have moved decidedly against making them rare and now want them to be celebrated
