The claim of hypocrisy. "Don't eat so many hamburgers" doesn't say "stop eating hamburgers," and even the second statement doesn't say that eating hamburgers is wrong.

Not to mention the fact it wasn't even her eating the hamburger, it was someone she was with. It's trying to make a mountain out of a molehill... if it can even be described that charitably.

Posting an article that uses over the top rhetoric to combat AOC's over the top rhetoric is not "spreading falsehoods". The child DID, in fact, make a goofy statement about people eating hamburgers for breakfast, lunch and supper. Do you know ANYBODY who does that? I mean, "let's get real". That blatant idiocy deserves the response it received.

You mean her saying that perhaps everyone eating hamburgers 3 times a day isn't a great idea, doesn't justify someone stalking her and photographing someone eating a hamburger near her?

Fox and Friends one-upped it by claiming AOC is against people having children.

They managed to get to this piece of crazy, because a random person in an instagram chat said to AOC that they were a bit scared about bringing their own children into a world that's going to be suffering a variety of bad effects caused by climate change (Fox, of course, doesn't play the question being asked and their edit implies AOC is just announcing her own mind to the world on the issue of having children) and AOC acknowledging to the person that worrying about whether the future world will/won't be a great place to raise children in is a valid concern... and Fox and Friends reinterpret this as AOC wanting to end Western Civilization by having people not have children and thus commit "civilizational suicide" according to Fox and Friends. On a later Fox show, Hannity reiterated the rant and added "no children" to the list of things AOC allegedly wants in addition to repeating their now-standard false claims that she wants no planes and no cows and thinks the world will end in 12 years. It's nuts.

If you wanted to post a thread, saying "AOC's statement was goofy, I don't know anyone who eats that many hamburgers, I think it was probably exaggeration on her part" I wouldn't have the slightest issue. Personally, I think it's fairly settled that Americans in general are too fat and eat too much fast food and that it's bad for them, and that they should cut back on the hamburgers and junk food in general. For those hard of reading comprehension, I am not thereby wanting the banning of all junk food (I enjoy junk food), aren't urging Americans to eat no hamburgers (I enjoy hamburgers), or any other extremist action - I'm not in fact urging anyone to take any action, I'm just stating a personal view I hold that Americans probably eat more hamburgers than are good for them.

Perhaps you can now engage your brain and understand why such a statement is different to 1) Ranting about cow farts, 2) Urging Americans to do something?

I know if might be difficult to make the old cogs turn, but perhaps you can work out if you try really hard why a rant about cow farts isn't remotely the same as a passing comment about 3 hamburgers a day? Seriously, have the words "cow farts" even once left AOC's lips or fingers in the past 2 weeks? I searched her twitter, I googled news items... nary a comment or post by her about cow farts in any way, shape or form. She does not appear to have uttered those words, she does not appear to have spoken about the topic. In the one interview which we have both found and posted in this thread she is asked about the topic and her reply is that factory farming has a lot of issues and they should take a look at it, and that 3 hamburgers a day is probably too many. So where, oh where, is this supposed rant about cow farts? Does it... not exist?!? ~gasp~
