I thought you were above argument by fallacy, Tassman. Was Feynman wrong?

I don't think that particular statement of his is defensible as a generalized account of science. I don't think it's a particularly helpful or interesting quote to take out of its original context, and insofar as the contextless version of it makes any sense, it's wrong.
"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell

Professor Feynman was simply being modest. He had a great sense of humor and was an iconoclast by nature. He's hardly going to remain serious about his profession as a leading physicist and authority on quantum mechanics, if he really believed it was grounded in ignorance. Hence, for a conspiratorial website such as MM 's, to use this quote in its banner is dishonest quote-mining.

Stupid OPEC. Canada and the States desperately need to get out of it.
