All the stations around here saying that the gas MAY contain up to 10% ethanol

I'm always still in trouble again

You can pretty much rest assured that "may" pretty much means "does", and "up to" can safely be ignored. There's a mandated quota to meet, and it's not a small number.

Looks like they scrapped the tax for good...

French President Emmanuel Macron has scrapped a fuel tax rise amid fears of new violence, after weeks of nationwide protests and the worst rioting in Paris in decades.

France suspends planned fuel tax increase after violent protests

An official with the Elysee palace told The Associated Press on Wednesday that the president decided to get rid of the tax.

Philippe told lawmakers that "the tax is now abandoned" in the 2019 budget, and the government is "ready for dialogue." The budget can be adjusted or renegotiated through the course of the year.

Three weeks of protests have left four people dead and were a massive challenge to Macron.

And now the French people know that violence will get them what they want. Not a good thing.

No, it doesn't look like they did. It looks like they scrapped it for 2019, for now. I think they've left themselves plenty of wiggle room to bring it back.

Didn't they learn that lesson when they guillotined all their nobles?

It turns out that the first atheistic anti-church regime was the norm, not the exception, in turning to violence to achieve their preferred state.

I mean, Bastille Day is a national holiday that's basically a celebration of how violent insurrection can get you what you want (eventually, at least; they had to sort through things like the Reign of Terror and Napoleon first).

The US has its own history of violent revolution and violent civil war. Lots of countries have had major violence at one time or another. Your random attack on atheism is irrelevant and bizarre.
