True, Trump is doing his best to politicize the FBI for a year now. Of course, the memo is very selective and dishonest and does not reveal all the relevant information.

Seer, the democrats didn't get a FISA warrant to spy on Trump or his people, the FBI did, and nor did they use false information to get one on Carter Page. The FBI has been watching Carter Page since 2013 and renewed the warrant some 5 or 6 times.

But here's the thing, this is the exact opposite of a nothing burger.

The short version is that the FBI and DOJ obtained warrants by knowingly using a tainted and unverified dossier from an unreliable and biased source who was paid by Hillary and the Democrats to do opposition research without making a full disclosure of these facts to the courts. Had the courts known these facts, it's unlikely the warrants would have been approved. In other words, the warrants on which the entire Russian conspiracy theory is based may very well be illegal, and any evidence gathered through those warrants is inadmissible in court.

This is big league stuff, Jimmy.

Obtaining the FISA Warrant took thousands of pages of documents, Nunes and Trump cherry picked 4 pages out of that to try and make Deputy AG Rosenstein look bad in order that Trump can try and fire him over it and end the Mueller investigation. Its just another act of obstructing Justice and Nunes will probably, definitely should be, under investigation now as well.

Nope. Bret Baeir interviewed Nunes on Special Report tonight. Nunes expects the Dems' counter-memo to be available in a few days. He also said the memo released today was only the end of "Phase One." There are more phases, with "Phase Two" being investigation of the State Dept.

Other (Republican) House members favor releasing the underlying raw data, albeit with careful redactions to protect "sources and methods."

Apparently Comey calls the memo "dishonest and misleading." In what ways, I wonder? Has anyone seen anything more on that?

I actually find Comey a trustworthy source. Trump and Nunes less so. If Comey says the memo is dishonest and misleading, I am inclined to believe him.

Just read the memo... it seems underwhelming and irrelevant.

As someone who's followed this whole investigation pretty closely it seemed to contain some basic mistakes and inaccuracies (e.g. see RedState's article on one of them), as well as leaving out certain obviously relevant things (e.g. that Steele's dossier was initially funded by a Republican group during the primaries prior to Clinton taking over the funding in the general; or that the FBI were monitoring Carter Page long before he became associated with the Trump campaign and that they merely continued their monitoring of him during the time he was associated with the Trump campaign), and considering some obvious givens as somehow being evidence (e.g. Steele by Sept 2016 was against Trump being president - given Steele had uncovered many pages worth of evidence against Trump from his Russian sources it would be surprising if he wanted a compromised criminal to be President).

And yet with all that combined the memo manages to come up with... zilch in the way of any serious wrongdoing by anyone or anything anyone should care about.

It confirms things that we already knew but the democrats kept denying.

It pretty much confirmed what anyone who has been following it already knew. No real surprises. The only question was whether the judge who issued the FISA warrants had known he was being sold a bill of goods consisting of nothing more than unverified gossip or was he played. Looks like he was played.

As an aside, anyone else notice that those who fought against its release were those accused of wrongdoing and the same MSM that had fought for the release of the Pentagon Papers?
