Trump's Ambassador to the Netherlands is Peter Hoekstra, who was Dutch-born but came to the US with his parents and eventually served 18 years as a Republican congressman from Michigan's 2nd district. His served as the lead Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, and was a founding member of the Tea Party caucus.
He embarrassed himself in 2006 by claiming that Weapons of Mass Destruction had been found in Iraq, only to subsequently be debunked.
He was appointed by Trump this year to be Ambassador to the Netherlands, and in the clip above he is being interviewed by media in the Netherlands, who are interested in his 2015 assertion that the Netherlands had "no-go zones" and that politicians and cars are being set on fire in the Netherlands due to radical Islam. In the clip he responds by claiming it is "fake news" that he ever said that, though there is obviously video footage of him saying that, and then in the interview he goes on to bizarrely then assert that he hasn't used the term "fake news" today which greatly confuses the journalist who had just heard him use it.
I guess Trump appoints only the best people. So good it will make your head spin.
