Biden refers to mass illegal immigration as 'influx' of 'Hispanic voters'

President Joe Biden accidentally referred to Hispanic illegal immigrants as “voters” in an interview with a Spanish radio show on Thursday while discussing the ongoing crisis at the southern border.

"It's even a bigger influx now in terms of Hispanic voters, or Hispanic - Hispanic citizens, who want to become citizens," President Biden said while talking to the host of the radio show Chiquibaby.

In the same interview, Biden likened the current immigration levels to the 1840s Irish migration to the United States due to famine and persecution.

Biden said that the current crisis is "a little bit like back in the 1840s and the great exodus of Ireland, because of the famine and the way Irish Catholics were treated. They said no, no, we don't need any more of those folks. There was a large influx."

"The Hispanic community is part of the future of America," Biden continued. "Twenty-eight out of every 100 students in school speak Spanish, the idea that you’re gonna ignore that? That’s our future. One of the reasons that we’re growing so much is we have a significant influx of immigrants coming into our country, only reason our economy’s so good. We’re not a xenophobic nation. Other nations are, we’re not, that’s why our economy is the best in the world."

However, Biden's mistake of calling Hispanic illegal immigrants "voters" sparked criticism on social media, with many accusing him of a Freudian slip and inadvertently revealing his political agenda.

The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Immigration isn't an agenda, it's a fact just as Biden explains it in the article. The only problem with the immigration issue is the Republicans refusal to do anything about it, to reform the entire system. All they want to do is to talk and complain and use it as a campaign issue.
They had a great chance at serious reform had they passed their own conservative sponsored bi-partisan supported Senate immigration bill, but the House Republicans under orders from Trump refused to even bring the bill up for a vote. That's how much Trump and House Republicans truly care about solving the border and immigration problems.
Of course they needed to come up with their dumb excuses for not passing it in order to placate the dumbed down faction of their constituency like "well it was pork Barrell loaded with aid to Ukraine, Taiwan and Israel. But, like I said that excuse was to placate the dupes. Everyone else knows that they were going to pass the foreign military and economic aid package one way or another anyway, which btw they did.
So, no excuses. Republicans just really don't care to do anything to solve the problem, they just want to rant and rave and lie about it, particularly so around election time.
It is true that the righty politicians and propagandists got all the righties riled up and concerned that they're losing "their country" to non native brown people who they fear will vote democrat which may or may not be true, but for one thing that's irrelevant to the issue and for another it does nothing to address it.

Illegal immigration is - and the Democrats are for it. Republicans are for LEGAL immigration, and always have been.

The difference is that there is legal immigration and there is illegal immigration. Old Joe supports the latter.

Hoping to sucker those who are not the sharpest tool in the socket into believing he is doing the right thing for America.

Well, I am breaking from my tribe to cut demented Joe some slack here. First, it is quite possible he meant "Hispanic immigrants". It's election season; votes and voters are a concern and might get scrambled in his brain. Secondly, the quote cuts off. He said "It's even a bigger influx now in terms of Hispanic voters, or Hispanic - Hispanic citizens, who want to become citizens."

Biden would be best served by avoiding the subject altogether, like every other subject he doesn't comment on.

He just needs to stay on vacation and be quiet.

That's about the only chance he has. Or, if the softball media starts heavy editing him to the point he sounds coherent.

More Edited by a Moderator from the Cow Poker. Both Democrats and Republicans are for legal immigration, except for Trumpian's like yourself who fear immigrants and "democracy". If Trumpian's like yourself were for legal immigration you wouldn't have nixed the Senate passed immigration reform bill and you wouldn't be supported a certain like Trump who defines immigrants as Vermin who are poisoning the blood of "your/his" country.

I foresee Jim climbing to the top of a water tower with a rifle to spread respect and dignity across a campus.

He's probably one of them anti-gun liberals. I see him pitchin a little cussy fit then retreating to his bong.

No, the difference is that there are truths and there are lies, and you choose to post the latter. I'm guessing that must be the nature of Trumpian's, they're of a similar character as that of their treasonous leader.
