A pastor who molested a family member for 7 years gets probation:

    https://www.kristv.com/news/local-ne...ives-probation

CORPUS CHRISTI, Tx — William C. Robinson, a pastor working for Chi Alpha Campus Ministries in Corpus Christi, received 10 years probation after sexually abusing an underage family member.

On March 22, Robinson appeared in the 319th District Court where he accepted a plea deal that would avoid any jail time. He pleaded guilty to one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, one count of sexual assault of a child, and three counts of indecency with a child. In exchange for his plea, Robinson received 10 years deferred adjudication. If he complies with the terms of his probation, once he serves his sentence, Robinson can have the charges removed from his record.

Sounds a lot like a pastor I had fifty years ago.

This does seem a rather lenient sentence--sure, it's 10 whole years of probation, but still probation. I says "He will have a curfew from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Plus, his internet access will be monitored." though it's not clear if that lasts the full 10 years.

However, what exactly was the sexual abuse performed? The article never specifies. "Sexual abuse" can encompass a lot of things, including non-physical abuse. It does say "He pleaded guilty to one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, one count of sexual assault of a child, and three counts of indecency with a child," but again the specifics of these crimes is not stated. I would want to know more specifically what was actually done before I can judge the leniency of the sentence.

Not necessary. Or are you supposing this is some sort of Christian persecution? My guess would be they are not specified to protect him, not thay what he did wouldn't make one's blood boil.

How is it not necessary to know the specific facts of a case before opining for sure on the sentence? The judge knew them, I don't; I don't even know exactly what was done aside from the charges, and there's a lot of information that a single charge won't tell you. I've got no idea what you're referring to with the supposing of it being a Christian persecution.

Usually the information is in an indictment or something like that, but I wasn't able to find any, not online anyway. As this was a local case, it might not be accessible online at all.

I've seen a good number of these kinds of cases come and go ( more that I would have liked to for sure) and in cases like where violence was not part of the abuse, every one i've observed were I have knowkedge of the circumstances, the actual situation is worse than you'd think it was based on the sentencing. That's what I'm basing my opinion on. But I'm not claiming to know, just that usually these things tend to go in the perpetrator's favor, especially if in all other ways they are generally well liked, upstanding members of their community.

If we're going to talk about pedos, we shouldn't forget the dog show judge who was recently arrested for child porn and who was mostly likely going to abuse a surrogated child he was about to receive. The child was not even out of the womb and he was making plans, allegedly.
