I'm not sure why you think his actions were "fair". It was potentially a criminal act, and the fact that he was leaking to the press makes him untrustworthy in and of itself.

So? He went out of his way to protect Hillary and was leaking information to the media in an attempt to politically harm Trump.

Yeah, you forgot about that little part about Trump know being requested to produce any recorded conversations he had with Comey.

              Source: FOX news

House and Senate lawmakers leading the Russia investigation have asked the White House to produce tapes President Trump hinted might exist of a conversation between him and ousted FBI Director James Comey. They also made a formal request to the Comey camp for copies of the memos he testified he made to document the meetings.

The requests come on the heels of explosive allegations by Comey and a string of strong denials by Trump over the abrupt dismissal of the FBI director and the circumstances surrounding it.

              A few possibilities.

1)There are no tapes and he better have a damn good explanation as to why he led both the public and Congress on that there were.

2)There are tapes but they have no conversations with Comey.

3)They are tapes and they prove Trumps story, proving Comey committed perjury.

4)They are tapes and the yvindicate Comey in which case, Trump will have committed perjury, and his doing so will raise questions as to why he lied.

              5)He destroyed them.

Trump is going to have to put-up, or shut-up.

At this point everyone knows that Trump is the world's biggest liar, who pathologically makes stuff up all the time, so there are almost certainly no tapes. Trump isn't competent enough to operate a tape recorder anyway.

Anything is possible with this jackass.

He's so paranoid from hanging out with the likes of conspiracy theorists such as Alex Jones, Steve Bannon, and Roger Stone, as well a lawyer that is so incompetent that he misspelled 'president' in a statement to the press, that it's very conceivable that he was given such terrible advise as to secretly record people in the oval office. If such tapes do exist we will find out one way or another -- Trump has a big mouth. The people Trump surrounds himself with give him bar none the worst political and legal advise of any public servant in US history, as no sane advisor would tell him to blab the suggestion that he has recorded his conversations on Twitter in front of billions of people, and certainly no sane attorney would tell the president to promise testifying under oath given his history of getting caught in outright lies.

Seriously, it just gets worse and worse for this WH, day after day.

How on Earth did Trump not know about Flynn's shady background? Why would he keep somebody like that on his campaign with all the rumors surrounding his connections to Russia? If had good advisors or just common sense, he would have done his research, found out Flynn's background, and disassociated himself the minute he was made aware of the details. Even excusing such poor judgment, he should have heeded the advise of people that warned him about Flynn, instead of moving forward with him. Then you've got the AG Jeff Sessions omitting his meetings with the Russian ambassador Kislyak, in what obvious deception, and now the FBI believes there was yet a third meeting Sessions had with Kislyak last year -- which will prove Sessions to have committed perjury his testimony to the Senate if corroborated.

Then there's Jared Kushner attempting to set-up a communications channel using Russian facilities and hardware in an effort to bypass the CIA, which is makes Clintons misuse of classified emails look like a baby fart. Again, where was Trump in all of this? If he was innocent he would have told his son in law "Are you crazy! Haven't heard the rumors of me conspiring with the Russian government?" when he heard the news. But he keeps the little punk in the WH anyways.

Why are these people lying so much if they have nothing to hide? Why talk about a back-channel with a foreign government that you were briefed on as having waged cyber wars against our country? Innocent or guilty, this is behavior that raises suspicion, and they only have themselves to blame one way or the other.

It does. It almost defies belief.

Sounds like Trump wants backchannel with Russia, which is perfectly fine!!!
