This thread is quite amazing in terms of the level of denial the conservative posters have been in with regards to that basic reality. Your obviously-true statements are being denied by them at length and their goalpost moving skills are being used to their max.

A conclusion I came to when I was a Christian studying theology and Christian history is that you want to look at people's actions before believing their words. There were plenty of theologians who talked a good theological game in between or after doing horrible things... (Athanasius, Augustine, Luther, Calvin etc) usually they 'won' any theological disputes and controversies they were engaged in because they were more willing than their opponents to get their hands dirty with the bribes and the corruption and the political force to persecute their opponents and thus 'win'. You've got to ask yourself "do I want to model my beliefs after those held by such a person?" The horrendous immoral conduct of US conservatives across the board, and Faux News in particular, should be a warning to anyone not to want a bar of what those people are selling.
