Try to keep it civil though. The rules still apply here.

There are different types of intelligence. We need people who learn in different ways and who appreciate different types of problems. College tries to force everyone through the same meat grinder and that is wrong. So I agree with you, college isn't for everyone - it shouldn't even be the goal.

There should be no shame in being an electrician or a plumber.
A person can do well in those careers with on the job training and minimal school work.
The trade skills should be something a student has the option to start pursuing in High School - graduate ready to apprentice.

If people want to raise the minimum wage to $15 that's fine with me.
I think it fraught with problems but maybe those won't be obvious until we try it.
In Germany, in high school they give you an aptitude test. Depending on your skills and score you are slated to go to college or a trade school. Both are valid paths to good paying jobs.

That is why low skill jobs like 'fry boy' don't pay much.
The worker doesn't have to bring any skills to the table and quite nearly anyone can do the job.

So I don't think the employer picks the wage.
I think the job and available people who are capable to do it cause market forces to determine the wage.
Yep. I think a lot of jobs would pay more if there were no artificial minimum wage set. It gives employers a "set level" that they can point to and say "the government says this is what you deserve so take it" - if there were no minimum wage level, then they would have to pay what the market demands to get workers to do the job.
