Nova Scotia outlaws support on highway for 'freedom' truckers days after massive protest

The Canadian province of Nova Scotia made it illegal for people to gather along a highway ahead of the "Freedom Convoy" of truckers that made their way across the country in protest of vaccine mandates.

The local government issued "a directive under the Emergency Management Act prohibiting protesters from blockading Highway 104 near the Nova Scotia-New Brunswick border."

The directive specifically states supporters of the Freedom Convoy and another protest, the Atlantic Hold the Line event, can’t gather along Highway 104, on the Nova Scotia-New Brunswick border. The directive states that "allowing people to gather in those areas would put themselves and others at risk."

The protest is, in my opinion, ill conceived and ill founded - but the participants are well within their rights to protest anyway.
Novia Scotia seems eager to introduce grounds for a well conceived and well founded protest to be added to the mix.

I consider that the vaccine mandates make sense. However, that others disagree and have the right to peacefully express that disagreement needs to be upheld. Were I resident in Canada, I would now be inclined to join the convoy. Nova Scotia govt has crossed a line that should not even be approached. ASSUMING the report that gathering to support the convoy is in fact what has been banned - the report is somewhat contradictory, also indicating that blockading the highway might be the action that is banned. Blockading would not be a peaceful protest.

Well I find such a position itself to be ill founded and ill concieved. Vax mandates violate freedom, and in addition as we've seen do not actually prevent the spread of the disease, nor getting sick from it.
