    "We will bring back our jobs"
    4.7% - Jan 2017 unemployment rate
    6.7% - Dec 2020 unemployment rate

    "We will get our people off of welfare and back to work"
    - Americans receiving unemployment benefits:
    2,494,547 - Jan 21, 2017
    5,237,096 - Dec 19, 2020 (an increase of 109% under Trump)

    "We will bring back our wealth"
    - US national debt has increased by $7 trillion under Trump
    - the federal budget deficit has increased by 429% under Trump
    $585 billion - federal budget deficit for fiscal year 2016
    $3.1 trillion - federal budget deficit for fiscal year 2020

    "We will build new roads and highways and bridges and airports and tunnels and railways all across our wonderful nation."
    - never happened (in May, 2019, Trump refused to consider any infrastructure spending because House Democrats were investigating his business finances)
    "Trump, angry over House investigations, blows up infrastructure meeting" - LA Times headline, May 22, 2019


    A few other random factoids:

    - "U.S. image plummets internationally as most say country has handled coronavirus badly" - Pew Research Center
    - hate crimes in the US rose 19.5% between 2016 and 2019 (2020 figures not yet available)
    - US citizens who say they are "proud to be American" dropped from 81% in 2016 to 63% in 2020
    - "Trump is less trusted by people in 13 allied nations to do the right thing than the autocratic leaders of Russia and China" - 2020 Pew Research poll

        Yuh, let's forget all about COVID, right? Before COVID, the economy was higher than ever before, and even WITH COVID the stock market still managed to not only recover but grow.
