IIRC North Korea considers itself to have never stopped being at war with the U.S. They're just in a temporary (now over 50 years) state of cease-fire.

North Korea does not have the ability to strike the US at this point in time; they have claimed the ability to deliver a warhead to Alaska, but the claim does not appear credible.

Right. The terms of the armistice explicitly say it is to be in place until "a final peaceful settlement is achieved."

True if you're thinking being delivered by a missile. But that isn't the case if it were delivered by, say a container ship or something similar.

When NK does something like this, it's an indication that things at home must be falling apart. They do this to rally the troops at home. I wonder how many of NK's citizens have figured this out - "War with America - our economy must be tanking even more than usual"

They're probably too busy starving to worry about stuff like that

China warning of war is a bit more disconcerting.

Not in the context of the current South China Sea conflict.
