It will be interesting to see how Ghost Guns are dealt with in the current gun control climate...

And I thought you were doing a promotion of the new Ghostbusters movie.

The interesting thing here is that the US Government only has authority to 'regulate' commerce across the states. They don't have direct authorization to regulate what individual people do in their own homes, for example. The other odd thing is to hear that Brown vetoed that law.

People living in remote villages in Afghanistan have been manufacturing firearms for centuries (and now including very modern military ones) using a process called lost wax casting

Yet another reason why the no-fly, no-buy policy the Dems are pushing to protect us from terrorist mass shooters is utter nonsense.

Though I suppose one could hot wax while wax casting....

So you think people who are considered so dangerous that they aren't even allowed to fly SHOULD be allowed to legally buy guns? Come on.

As certain commenters have endlessly claimed, it's allegedly "easy" to make bombs--but that doesn't mean laws against bombs should be loosened, or that laws shouldn't be tightened/added to make it tougher to obtain or construct bombs. The same applies to these supposed "ghost guns."

People who are considered so dangerous they aren't even allowed to fly should NOT be allowed to buy guns. Unfortunately, that's not the same set of people on the no fly list.

Frankly, the no-fly list is a joke. There's not a due process for getting added to it. It's not specific enough to hit the actual target, instead picking up anyone sharing the name (including babies). It's notoriously difficult to get removed if you find yourself on there wrongly. You have no way of knowing you're even on it until issues arise.

There's a lot of work that needs to be done before it's suitable to use it as a basis for withholding weapon purchases. A lot of work that, in all likelihood, will never happen. It's more likely that the no-fly list would go away completely.

Different types of firearms are continually manufactured in maximum security prisons throughout the country. Now, granted they are generally pretty darn primitive, but if people can do it where they are constantly monitored and searched and essentially have zero rights, imagine trying to stop it in a relatively open and free society.

Yes, I realize that the no-fly list has flaws and is in need of reform, if not being done away with altogether, but still--people currently on it should not be allowed to buy guns. Good people who unfortunately ended up on the list do not need guns, and bad people who are rightfully on the list should not have guns.

Not to mention the other point, which is that allegedly being able to make your own gun does not at all justify loosening or refusing to tighten up gun laws.
