Yigael Yadin did not concentrate on pre-exilic Israel. Israeli commentator Uri Avnery – real name Helmut Osterman - wrote this piece, and he intentionally mislabels Yadin's area of interest. I must ask for what purpose would he do that other than to try to score an unchecked rhetorical point from his fellow Tubingen school of thought audience. That's what

How does this differ from the fellow down in the outhouse who uses a different name? Other than the fact Uri's been using his since before any of us (excepting perhaps Jed) was born?
And with regard to your suggestion of mislabeling:
The Chief of Staff of the army, Yigael Yadin, the son of an archeologist, and himself a professional archeologist, searched ancient sites to prove that the Conquest of Canaan really happened.
I'm sure we'll all be pleased to hear how Hazor wasn't pre-exilic. Seriously, Bill. That's a pretty dull hatchet job. I think you'd do better concentrating on the nudes on the back page of Haolam Hazeh.
As ever, Jesse

Well, considering he was classified as a terrorist when he began using it.. Just thought it was an interesting tidbit.

But the good thing is that his discoveries in Hazor prove Avner's quip about "nothing being found" as completely empty rhetoric.
