I actually did try to use it as bait. But nothing bit on it. might have been too big.

Which is exactly why I got such a good laugh out of his response.

Without a clear-cut definition of sin, morality becomes a mere argument over the best way to train animals

Be prepared to catch turtles, as well, if there are any within a hundred miles.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Yup, and it works on everything else too. It can be hard to keep on the hook too.

We saw a snapper floating around there. They will eat anything that gets near their mouth.

When I was a kid we used Velveeta as bait when we went up to Big Bear Lake to fish.

Well after searching online I am making up some test catfish bait to try next time.
                      1. Plain hot dogs (like CP said)
                      2. Hot dogs marinated in garlic and salt and some peanut oil and bit of margarine.
                      3. Hot dogs marinated in some "garlic steak" marinate I found in my cupboard. It has a very strong smell.
                      4. I found some old salami in the fridge that was buried behind some stuff, it looks like it is going bad. Added some hot sauce to it and am letting it soak.

Cere, why are you judging the taste of catfish? Maybe they like spoiling salami with hot sauce.

Just because somebody likes something doesn't mean it's good.
