What we don't know is how long-lasting an impact they have had.

Also we should bear in mind that people or groups promoting sinful behaviours have an active support network - the devil and the evil spirits. They're in a 'friendly' environment, in the sense that the evil spiritual forces of this world like what they say. Whereas Christians are in an environment hostile to their message. So we shouldn't be surprised by hostility and the difficulty of sharing the gospel with people who don't want to hear it. Which means that it actually is something Christians should take more seriously, and put more focus on, (I agree with you!)


I wonder if that lady might get an awful surprise when she meets Jesus.... "Who are you...? What are you doing here...?". If you're not at all concerned about serving God with your life, and not interested in the things God cares most about, maybe you don't know Him at all.

I think there is some reason for optimism, and some things seem to be changing. I've recently come across a lot of great Christian content on Youtube - Capturing Christianity; Inspiring philosophy; Mike Winger; Trinity radio; Whaddo you meme? - are all top quality channels. No doubt there are others I'm not yet aware of.

Great points, though, Nick. It's easy to fall into a 'Me and Jesus' and too bad about the rest mentality.

Therefore it's rude, selfish, and socially awkward of you to persist in posting in this section of TWeb. Nick has you on ignore (as he says in this thread), so you're not having any kind of communication with him. Post elsewhere, there are plenty of places for you to do that.

20 years ago I never would have thought that I would have to defend the idea that men are men and women are women. I never would have thought I would have to defend marriage as a union of a man and a woman. Yet today, these things that were believed for thousands of years by everyone have been called into question.

Actually for thousands of years a huge proportion of human cultures around the globe have allowed people to change gender and marry someone of the same sex.

So, no, your personal views were not "believed for thousands of years by everyone".
