Your quality of life won't be as good and you will likely be bored out of your skull. And you will be shamed for every time you have acted like a jerk to God and other people.
If it weren't for the Resurrection of Jesus, we'd all be in DEEP TROUBLE!

How do you know, have you been there? How will I be shamed? Actually this hell that you speak of sounds like a hell of a lot more fun than sitting around worshipping in obedience to what I perceive to be naught else but a slavemaster. Talk about boring! But tell me, where does it say that Hell is simply eternal life without a master? Is there somewhere we can go to sign up?

Oh dear. Do you really think it is better to not live under a caring shepherd? To not be loved and given a task to preform for enrichment purposes? Even a working breed dog will get bored to insanity if it does not have a job to do. God does not need our help. We have to have something important to do. Be careful what you wish for, you just may get it.

better to just keep your answers short and to the point with JimL. It gives him less fodder to twist and troll with.

You can argue that Justice doesn't apply to god if you want, but then you can't at the same time define him as being just. What you're arguing is that god has the right to be unfair, that he has the right to be unjust, which of course would be true if he were an unjust god, but having the right to be unjust, doesn't make his actions just.
Having the right to be unjust is an oxymoron. If you have the right to something then exercising that right can by definition not be unjust.

I disagree. Freedom of religion is a right but one can follow the wrong one.

You're trying to hard, Chrawnus. Having the right to do wrong, doesn't make that wrong right. Right?

There is nothing that God has the right to do that is wrong.

I think you mean to say that there is nothing that god has the right to do that is unjust. If true, then he doesn't have the right to be unjust. You're playing a word game, and it isn't going to work!

                          • God is THE moral standard. And He can't/won't be out of character. If it looks like He is, then we are misinterpreting His actions big time. And that's sad. Because He really would know what the best course of action to take is. Even if it is unpleasant in the short term. A young child being given a vaccine may think the adults are being cruel, but the adults are really trying to keep the child from getting a potentially serious or fatal illness.

I agree, God doesn't have the right to be unjust. It's simply a matter of fact that whatever God decides to do it is by definition just. God has the authority to do things that we are not allowed/authorized to do without it being unjust.

Well, now you're just agreeing with me, apparently without realizing it. That isn't the argument that Tea was making. Her argument was that a god has the right to do anything he chooses with his property, and that the mere fact that he has that right, that power, is what makes it just. Justice isn't measured by ones right, or ones power, to act, it's measured by the fairness of the act itself. If the action is just in one case, then it must be just in the other, otherwise it isn't just.
