I saw some bottles of that at my local Liquor Store... I believe it. For almost $50 here, it better be good.
On an related note I picked up some Bulleit Bourbon and some scotch called The Famous Grouse. Both of which are delicous.
I've heard The Maker's Mark is pretty good also... but it got Delisted where I am.
I'm becoming more and more convinced that Maker's Mark is my new preference. I need to try some Maker's 46 again. It makes sense in a way. I think I like slightly mellow whiskey -- rye aged long (hence the double aged Jim Beam), or a wheat whiskey (which can achieve a similar taste with less age).
On another note, I hear that the founder of Maker's Mark got some assistance from the Stitzel-Weller (Pappy Van Winkle) crew...which makes me want to get my hands on some Pappy Van Winkle even more....but I hear there's a wait list, and I don't have 1k to drop on a fifth of whiskey. :("If you believe, take the first step, it leads to Jesus Christ. I'd love to try Pappy Van Winkle some day but, yep, it's way too expensive for me right now.
I tried Basil Hayden recently. It's definitely on the lighter side of bourbon at 80 proof but it has a nice crisp and smooth flavor. I'd recommend it for people who don't like a punch from the alcohol but would discourage the people who do like that punch from buying it."Concentrate on what you have to do. Fix your eyes on it. I picked up Eagle Rare the other day. This is a really good bourbon that has a balanced taste to it. When I first tried it I wasn't really sure what to think but the more I've had it the more I like it and would definitely buy it again."Concentrate on what you have to do. Fix your eyes on it. I bought a bottle of Bushmills Black Bush the other day. I have to say that, even though I've only had a small amount, it's likely to become my 'go-to' for Irish Whiskey. It's got a similar taste to Jameson, except with a smell and slight taste comparable to a good quality fruit cake.Last edited by Chaotic Void; 01-02-2015, 02:27 PM.Have You Touched Grass Today?
