I found out that my granddad (my mum's dad and last living grandparent) passed away earlier this month from bone cancer and prostrate cancer. I can't remember how old he was, but he was in his 80s, which is impressive since he was an alcoholic and chain smoker all his life and didn't die of lung cancer or liver disease. He did have COPD, though, by this point. But yeah, my granny (my mum's mum) died in 2020 and I never got a chance to see her one last time since I'm in the US, but I did get to see my granddad last year when I went back to the UK for my sister's wedding.

I never got to meet either grandfather. I know next to nothing about my paternal g'father but understand from many older relatives that my maternal g'father was a really great guy.
I'm always still in trouble again

Enter the Church and wash away your sins. For here there is a hospital and not a court of law. Do not be ashamed to enter the Church; be ashamed when you sin, but not when you repent. St. John Chrysostom

Yeah, my step-grandmother had died from cancer a few months prior to my visit back to the UK just before my uncle died (he had ill health his whole life due to diabetes, had both his kidneys and pancreas transplanted years ago, and from what I understand the transplanted organs were failing.)My Amazon Author page: https://www.amazon.com/-/e/B0719RS8BK
