  • Tommy Smothers -- no more chocolate vats........

Watched the tv show, really liked it. I was too young to understand all the political nuances that caused so much controversy. Tom and Dick were just funny to me.

My dad had one of their records, goofy stuff on one side, and some of the most beautiful folk music I've ever heard on the other. I have that record now, and my children grew up listening to it.

And we can never forget Tommy as the Yo-Yo Man, either. A talented, funny man.

Securely anchored to the Rock amid every storm of trial, testing or tribulation.

I got the "El Toro poopoo" line from him (He claimed he could speak Spanish and Dick called him on it).

I'm always still in trouble again

"You're by far the worst poster on TWeb" and "TWeb's biggest liar" --starlight (the guy who says Stalin was a right-winger)
"Overall I would rate the withdrawal from Afghanistan as by far the best thing Biden's done" --Starlight
"Of course, human life begins at fertilization that’s not the argument." --Tassman

I saw them perform at Knott's Berry Farm before they had their TV show. It was weird, as they were standing and performing on a small walking bridge at the amusement park, and would interact with people as they crossed it.

I enjoyed their TV show, too. I didn't fully understand most of the political jokes at the time, but even though they were famously left wing, it was at a time when left wing and libertarianism had some overlapping. So now, I get it - and ever agree with some of it.

        One of my favorite segments...

The One on the Left is on the Right - Noel Harrison Smothers ...

        A) Announce you are going to be looking for waste, abuse, fraud and corruption.
        2) Wait to see who screams the loudest.
        c) Start there..
