To what? Do you really want to give a bacon thief the keys to the fridge and unfettered access to the serving line?

Well threatening to ban him never works so I thought I would threaten him with a promotion instead.

                    I will promote him to....

My father taught me how locks work and the principles behind picking one when I was nine or so[1]

He locked my brother's and my Christmas presents behind a high tech "burglar-proof, jimmy-proof, pick-proof" lock and laughed at how we couldn't see them when I was twelve. I had the lock picked in less than five minutes the first time. Took almost fifteen the second time when I showed my brother what was in there[2].

I learned how to bump locks back in the 80s.

                        Who needs a steenkin' key?

                        1. Auto manufacturers had just started putting the lock in the steering column and apparently not all the bugs were worked out yet in that the entire lock came out of the column and fell into a bunch of tiny pieces when my father removed the key after we arrived at a restaurant one evening.

                        2. My brother then changed his Christmas list to match up exactly with what was in the locked closet. Of course my parents were instantly suspicious. And my father was furious but as my mother told him he all but challenged me to try to open the door. Wasn't my fault that I could.

This was one of the reasons my father was certain I would end up in prison when I became an adult. The fact that I was also a pretty good pickpocket as well probably added to his certainty.

meh. I taught myself how to pick locks. Started out with combination locks in school, then padlocks and door locks.

[did I say that out loud again?]

Was cutting up coke cans to pop open padlocks when I was in Jr. High. The thing was I never stole anything (or in the case of picking pockets, always was sure to promptly return what I lifted). I just did it for the thrill/challenge.

So you could say you weren't picky about your locks?

So, whose house is the corrupt now that Dee Dee isn't the owner? I think Mossy's house is corrupt has a nice ring to it.
