Unorthodox Theology 201 Guidelines

Theists only.

This forum area is primarily for persons who would identify themselves as Christians whether or not their theology is recognized within the mainstream or as orthodox though other theists may participate with moderator permission. Therefore those that would be restricted from posting in Christianity 201 due to a disagreement with the enumerated doctrines, ie the Trinity, the Creatorship of God, the virgin birth, the bodily resurrection of Christ, the atonement, the future bodily return of Christ, the future bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, and the final judgment may freely post here on any theological subject matter. In this case "unorthodox" is used in the strict sense of a person who denies what has been declared as universal essentials of the historic Christian faith. Examples would be adherents to Oneness, Full Preterists, Unitarian Universalist Christians, Gnostics, Liberal Christianity, Christian Science to name a few.

The second purpose will be for threads on subjects, which although the thread starter has no issue with the above doctrines, the subject matter is so very outside the bounds of normative Christian doctrine totally within the leadership's discretion that it is placed here. In so doing, no judgment or offense is intended to be placed on the belief of said person in the above-doctrines. In this case "unorthodox" is used in a much looser sense of "outside the norms" - Examples of such threads would be pro-polygamy, pro-drug use, proponents of gay Christian churches, proponents of abortion.

The third purpose is for persons who wish to have input from any and all who would claim the title of Christian even on subjects that would be considered "orthodox."

The philosophy behind this area was to recognize that there are persons who would identify themselves as Christian and thus seem out of place in the Comparative Religions Forum, but yet in keeping with our committment here to certain basic core Christian doctrines. Also, it allows threads to be started by those who would want to still be identified as Christian with a particular belief that while not denying an essential is of such a nature that the discussion on that issue belongs in this section or for threads by persons who wish such a non-restricted discussion.

  • Christians are supposed to Pray for their Government Officials.

“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.” Romans 13:1 (KJV 1900)

“Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,” Titus 3:1 (KJV 1900)

“Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;” 1 Peter 2:13 (KJV 1900)

“I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;” 1 Timothy 2:1–3 (KJV 1900)

OK I will pray for them, like David did

Dear Heavenly Father, please stop Biden and his Democrats from ruining this wonderful country. Oh Lord, how long will you allow these enemies of yours to oppress your people? How long will you allow them to kill innocent children? Please punish them for their sins, including murdering millions of babies through abortion. Bring your wrath upon them and make them turn from their evil ways.
    Amen.

What if abortion is partly your fault for not praying daily for government leaders?

What if it is partially your fault because you think Biden and the Liberals are just doing what God wants them to do and so you don't pray against Abortion?

When Romans 13 talks about obey the government, it is assuming that the government officials who were put there by God are actually OBEYING God and "following orders" - we know this isn't always the case, for even David disobeyed God and had an affair with Bathsheba and even had her husband murdered.

We are to obey God first. So if a government official is not obeying God and doing his will then we should not listen to him. We should obey them as much as we can while remaining inside God's will, but if we are asked to do something (like kill a baby) or told by that government that doing so is not wrong, then we should not obey and we should pray that they either start obeying God or be stopped.

I pray that Biden will start obeying God (he claims to be a Catholic but even the Catholics have said he cannot receive communion because of his views on Abortion) or is stopped by God and someone better is put in his place. AMEN.

It's God's wrath on this wicked nation. Did you know he turned the Jews into cannibals in the OT? They ate their own kids in judgment.

In the current environment I believe Psalm 109:8 is appropriate.

I'm always still in trouble again

"You're by far the worst poster on TWeb" and "TWeb's biggest liar" --starlight (the guy who says Stalin was a right-winger)
"Overall I would rate the withdrawal from Afghanistan as by far the best thing Biden's done" --Starlight

So God's wrath is murdering unborn babies? You are now accusing God of sin.

Abortion IS the wickedness of this nation (one of them anyway) and those in power are enabling it. I AM praying he punishes those that do and enable that sort of sin. Why aren't you praying that?

Not if America is under God's wrath as it appears to be.

Why is America under God's wrath? For what sins?

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” John 3:36 (KJV 1900)

God kills everyone born eventually. Those who die young experience less hell than the rest.

How much hell will you experience?

What is it about your character, Dave, that makes you so judgmental?
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

wow - Now God is a genocidal killer? It is appointed unto every man once to die - God doesn't kill everyone.

(God can and has and does kill people, but for specific reasons)

Jesus paid for my sins. But those in hell experience degrees of suffering based on how evil they are.

You said that "those who die young experience less hell than the rest".

Are you inferring that murdered-in-the-womb infants will suffer more hell than you?

Those have NEVER sinned, while you, like the rest of us, have sinned greatly.

So, how much hell will you experience?
