  • Kaaba = New Jerusalem?

    knj.jpg

Theories I've seen here and there: the Kaaba in Mecca is symbolic/prophetic/nemesis of New Jerusalem in Revelation. Some points of comparison and theories:
    • Both are said to be shaped like cubes.
    • The Muslim Quibla (direction of prayer) was changed from Jerusalem to the Kaaba, symbolic of Christian focus shifted from God's Kingdom in Jerusalem on Earth to God's Kingdom in New Jerusalem in Heaven.
    • The Black Stone is the eastern cornerstone of the Kaaba, Islamic tradition holds that the stone fell from Heaven to show Adam and Eve where to build an altar, which became the First Temple on Earth. Jesus is a cornerstone from Heaven and Lamb in New Jerusalem, which is the Last Temple.
    • Abraham raised the Kaaba and the Black Stone was given to him by an angel. Abraham raised the seed of Jesus and the Messianic Kingdom.
    • The Kaaba is washed by the Well of Zamzam which gave life to Ishmael (Genesis 21:19). The River of Life runs through New Jerusalem, where descendants of Ishmael are saved and reunited with Isaac in the New Covenant (Romans 11).
