Philosophy 201 Guidelines

Cogito ergo sum

Here in the Philosophy forum we will talk about all the "why" questions. We'll have conversations about the way in which philosophy and theology and religion interact with each other. Metaphysics, ontology, origins, truth? They're all fair game so jump right in and have some fun! But remember...play nice!

Right and the energy in that moment goes on forever. So again, in the same Block universe all suns die and all suns don't die.

You seem to conveniently use time when it suits you and ignore it when it doesn't. The entropy occurs over time, but we are talking about a single moment here. The energy doesn't have 'enough time' to dissipate in one moment. This is no different than in A-theory if you could freeze time. Nothing would be happening during that frozen moment. But the potential is still there, the energy is still there.

It certainly is a contradiction to say that all stars are dead and all stars are not dead - in the same universe.

The block universe exists "all at once" when viewed from the outside. That is not a contradiction. Any more than in my gif file, all dots and circles exist "at once" when viewed in an editor. Your objection is nonsense.
