Not being entirely au fait with mainstream Christian beliefs, would anyone who is a practising Christian [of any denomination] care to offer their observations on that statement.

I would only note that the various creeds refer to Jesus Christ:

Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit

Hypatia: Here's a comment by someone espousing what would be widely considered heretical and I'm not going to give a quote link. Discuss.

    Edit: Sounds like it's Apolloniarianism.

I considered it judicious for the identity of the individual to remain anonymous on this thread.

Of course that does prevent anyone from engaging in an advanced search [using that exact quote] in order to ascertain for themselves who initially posted it.

No need to keep me anonymous. I'm quite happy to own the claim.

No - it's kenotic Christology. Before Moltmann, it was considered heresy: now, it's regarded merely as unseemly.

You won't accept anything anyone here tells you, since you are merely trying to troll again, but, you do like to do research right? Research the Hypostatic Union.

Also, it appears from my search that you are not representing what the "commentator" actually said, but what he said that Athanasius wrote.

This is a genuine inquiry. I would have thought someone [apart from a professed agnostic] could give me a definite answer.

Is the belief in the incarnation [to make flesh] wrong?

Read the links I gave you. The Hypostatic Union is the doctrine that seeks to explain how Jesus was both fully God and fully Man. The Son took on flesh and became a man while still remaining God. I have no idea what your "commentator" meant or believes, so I gave you references so you could read what orthodox Christianity believes, and you don't have to take anyone's word for it. I gave you a Catholic and a Protestant source so you can see that they agree.

No. The Nicene Creed is an accurate summation.
