Theology 201 Guidelines

This is the forum to discuss the spectrum of views within Christianity on God's foreknowledge and election such as Calvinism, Arminianism, Molinism, Open Theism, Process Theism, Restrictivism, and Inclusivism, Christian Universalism and what these all are about anyway. Who is saved and when is/was their salvation certain? How does God exercise His sovereignty and how powerful is He? Is God timeless and immutable? Does a triune God help better understand God's love for mankind?

While this area is for the discussion of these doctrines within historic Christianity, all theists interested in discussing these areas within the presuppositions of and respect for the Christian framework are welcome to participate here. This is not the area for debate between nontheists and theists, additionally, there may be some topics that within the Moderator's discretion fall so outside the bounds of mainstream evangelical doctrine that may be more appropriately placed within Comparative Religions 101 Nontheists seeking only theistic participation only in a manner that does not seek to undermine the faith of others are also welcome - but we ask that Moderator approval be obtained beforehand.

Atheists are welcome to discuss and debate these issues in the Apologetics 301 or General Theistics 101 forum without such restrictions. Theists who wish to discuss these issues outside the parameters of orthodox Christian doctrine are invited to Unorthodox Theology 201.

Remember, our forum rules apply here as well. If you haven't read them now would be a good time.

Against God unknowingly. Not all Israel were zealous but ignorant. Some resisted Jesus even though He provided them with sufficient proof.

Paul is never recorded as being one who witnessed the ministry of Jesus.

In post #132 I asked you to show someone who became a believer after being converted into a person who loves God, by being re-programmed by the Holy Spirit, and you showed me Paul:

"Please show me any text in Scripture which describes a God hater turning into a God follower through being GIVEN repentance."

Paul was NOT a God hater.

Paul was persecuting the Church. He was not persecuting God.

                Now you answer my question.

Why was Paul persecuting the Church?

                • The Commandment of God to repent is effectual !2

The word of Gods commandment produces the desired result. When Christ commanded Lazarus Jn 11:43

And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. Lets remember Lazarus was dead at this time:

                  Jn 11:14

Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

Now the words come forth are in the greek an imperative
                  deuro:

                  (a) exclamatory: come, (b) temporal: now, the present.

in urging and calling, "Here! Come!"

                  The greek imperative means:

The imperative mood corresponds to the English imperative, and expresses a command to the hearer to perform a certain action by the order and authority of the one commanding.

In Acts 17:30 God is commanding all men everywhere to repent, and they shall do it, as many as God has Granted repentance Acts 11:1867

When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

Which explains why no-one disobeyed when they were commanded to repent. OOPS - there have been plenty who disobeyed.

Croikey! There are actually others who think the OP needs a psychiatrist!
