Ecclesiology 201 Guidelines

Discussion on matters of general mainstream Christian churches. What are the differences between Catholics and protestants? How has the charismatic movement affected the church? Are Southern baptists different from fundamentalist baptists? It is also for discussions about the nature of the church.

This forum is primarily for Christians to discuss matters of Christian doctrine, and is not the area for debate between atheists (or those opposing orthodox Christianity) and theists. Inquiring atheists (or sincere seekers/doubters/unorthodox) seeking only Christian participation and having demonstrated a manner that does not seek to undermine the orthodox Christian faith of others are also welcome, but must seek Moderator permission first. When defining “Christian” for purposes of this section, we mean persons holding to the core essentials of the historic Christian faith such as the Trinity, the Creatorship of God, the virgin birth, the bodily resurrection of Christ, the atonement, the future bodily return of Christ, the future bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, and the final judgment. Persons not holding to these core doctrines are welcome to participate in the Comparative Religions section without restriction, in Theology 201 as regards to the nature of God and salvation with limited restrictions, and in Christology for issues surrounding the person of Christ and the Trinity. Atheists are welcome to discuss and debate these issues in the Apologetics 301 forum without such restrictions. Additionally, there may be some topics that within the Moderator's discretion fall so outside the bounds of mainstream orthodox doctrine that may be more appropriately placed within Comparative Religions 101.

I can't speak for Old Bad Pig, but I do not consider prayer with/to saints to be a major belief. I think it is rather minor. Obviously some of those who oppose the practice see it as a huge issue, ie, idolatry.

    • As far as I'm concerned, a person doesn't have to "pull the trigger" to be responsible for something. You come on here and call him a "persona non grata," and then dissociate yourself from the act? Whatever. I would like to know who banned him then.

        See this thread: http://www.theologyweb.com/campus/sh...et-decapitated

Sparko posted the notice; BTC initially threatened to ban him.

Before you defend foudroyant, maybe you ought to review his conduct a bit more closely.
        Don't call it a comeback. It's a riposte.

        • A pretext. I observed Cow Poke come into the repentance thread and start provoking him for no reason, right before he made that obviously non-serious post. But I guess y'all got what you wanted. I am sad to see that Sparko was involved.

          • If it's a pretext, it's one Foud provided not only willingly, but enthusiastically.

Do you think Foud's argument in this thread was sound? Was his consistent antagonism toward anyone who disagreed with him justified?

He was warned by TWeb the day before he was banned Obsidian. I'm not privy to the content of the private message that was sent, but it was sent. And the action by TWeb is only part of the overall picture.

Strike three! I am amused by your insinuation that I felt threatened by foudroyant's ineffectual flailings. I am mildly annoyed that you think I would stoop to banning someone because they emphatically disagreed with my beliefs. Worried you're next or something?
Enter the Church and wash away your sins. For here there is a hospital and not a court of law. Do not be ashamed to enter the Church; be ashamed when you sin, but not when you repent. – St. John Chrysostom

Eh? You banned me? .... Why wasn't I told?

All 4 owners of the web site banned him based on events that you are not privy to - specifically PM conversations. He earned banishment using the same criteria we ban others for.

And who is that? According to Jesus there is only one true God. According to A.Paul there is to Christians only one God the Father! So is it you deny Jesus' testimony in A.John's testimony to his disciples that if you have seen/perceived him you have seen/perceived him that sent him?

oops! I should have read the entire thread since last posting. foudroyant has been banned for her stupidity and lack of reason. Seems, to me, she set herself up as a reasonable prospect...
