So. Long story short, my parents, my husband, and I are the janitors at our parish. We took over this duty last October. We usually only clean the place when everyone else is gone, so it's just us. We normally sweep the seating area with a regular broom and/or a dust mop. My mother is almost always the one whose job this is. Recently, she was not there when the other three of us were cleaning so my dad did it. He has a small, battery powered leaf blower and decided this was an appropriate substitute for the broom. He swept the entire area in about a third of the time it takes my mother to do it, and he claims he was able to get far more dirt than the broom can (my mother disagrees).
He made the mistake of telling her he'd done this. She just proclaimed to him that if you asked a lot of people, 95% of them would say that what he did was disrespectful. So I told her I was going to ask a lot of people.
So, what do y'all think?
