Christianity 201 Guidelines
orthodox Christians only.
Discussion on matters of general mainstream evangelical Christian theology that do not fit within Theology 201. Have some spiritual gifts ceased today? Is the KJV the only viable translation for the church today? In what sense are the books of the bible inspired and what are those books? Church government? Modern day prophets and apostles?
This forum is primarily for Christians to discuss matters of Christian doctrine, and is not the area for debate between atheists (or those opposing orthodox Christianity) and Christians. Inquiring atheists (or sincere seekers/doubters/unorthodox) seeking only Christian participation and having demonstrated a manner that does not seek to undermine the orthodox Christian faith of others are also welcome, but must seek Moderator permission first. When defining “Christian” or "orthodox" for purposes of this section, we mean persons holding to the core essentials of the historic Christian faith such as the Trinity, the Creatorship of God, the virgin birth, the bodily resurrection of Christ, the atonement, the future bodily return of Christ, the future bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, and the final judgment. Persons not holding to these core doctrines are welcome to participate in the Comparative Religions section without restriction, in Theology 201 as regards to the nature of God and salvation with limited restrictions, and in Christology for issues surrounding the person of Christ and the Trinity. Atheists are welcome to discuss and debate these issues in the Apologetics 301 forum without such restrictions.
Additionally and rarely, there may be some topics or lines of discussion that within the Moderator's discretion fall so outside the bounds of mainstream orthodox doctrine (in general Christian circles or in the TheologyWeb community) or that deny certain core values that are the Christian convictions of forum leadership that may be more appropriately placed within Unorthodox Theology 201. NO personal offense should be taken by such discretionary decision for none is intended. While inerrancy is NOT considered a requirement for posting in this section, a general respect for the Bible text and a respect for the inerrantist position of others is requested.
The Tweb rules apply here like they do everywhere at Tweb, if you haven't read them, now would be a good time.

The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms is a law firm based in Calgary which specializes in defending clients all over Canada whose Constitutional rights have been violated, and this is where I've been getting news regarding their representation of James Coates -- and it looks like they've been keeping a watchful eye on the provincial government and AHS (along with the other Western provinces and Ontario) ever since early last year.
If news about the announcement from this morning shows up anywhere, they'll likely be the ones to share it.

Because another pastor was arrested this afternoon in Calgary.
https://globalnews.ca/news/7867197/c...hens-covid-19/
Calgary pastor Tim Stephens of Fairview Baptist Church was arrested after Sunday services for violating a Court of Queen’s Bench Order, meaning he contravened COVID-19 health restrictions.
Stephens was arrested for organizing church services that did not comply with public health orders, including masking, physical distancing and attendance limits.
Police said they did not go inside the church, located at 230 78 Ave. S.E., during the services.
Stephens went with police after 3 p.m. as a group of people watched.

Just the opposite in fact, especially considering the number of sheriffs and such expressing reluctance when it came to enforcing these laws.
There is the case of the Whistlestop Cafe in Mirror, AB, who has been hounded by AHS for also remaining open. When the RCMP went last year and made him close, after they were done, they phone ordered enough takeout from the Cafe to feed the entire Mirror detachment. I think they really don't want to do all this. And it really isn't their mandate.
Sadly, they arrested the owner of the Cafe a week ago for holding a peaceful protest against the latest round of closures. The government cited the sweeping bill that the JCCF managed to get changed on Friday about "illegal" protests.

I don't know if the RCMP are following that same "rule" in every situation, but I know city police in various places are quite happy to arrest and fine anybody who is not wearing a mask or distancing or playing basketball by themselves in a park.

Well, isn't this lovely. I notice that no MSM source is reporting this.
https://www.rebelnews.com/arsonists_...ome_in_calgary
Pastor Artur Pawlowski has more to worry about these days than just SWAT-style arrests and Alberta Health bureaucrats. On Friday night, arsonists tried to burn down his home!
Calgary police have yet to name any suspects. They’ll have their work cut out for them though, considering how many feathers Pastor Artur has ruffled in the last few months.
The defiant pastor has received equal parts love and disdain for openly rejecting Alberta’s coronavirus health decrees and flouting lockdown laws to hold indoor services at Calgary’s Street Church.
Lockdown lovers, public health officials, mainstream media, and even neighbours have cast stones (and sometimes dog feces and nails) at Pastor Artur’s decision to defy the government’s encroachment onto our most basic civil liberty: the freedom to worship God.

From May 14 -- Jailed Alberta Pastor Released On Bail; Recounts Harsh Imprisonment And Blasts ‘Evil’ Canadian Politicians
"Pawlowski, who was released on bail earlier this week, detailed to Rebel News... how he was allegedly mistreated by some of the police and prison guards, who he claims physically abused him, mocked his Christian faith, and kept him from talking to his lawyer.
As The Daily Wire reported, a large number of police pulled over Pawlowski and his brother, Dawid Pawlowski, last Saturday to inform them that they were under arrest for allegedly violating Alberta’s Public Health Act by continuing to hold church services. ...
After removing them from their car, officers placed the men on wet asphalt in the middle of a busy highway, handcuffed them, and dragged them into police vans. When they were unable to fit Pawlowski into the back of the van, Pawlowski said one of the officers threatened to charge him with assault if he kicked them.
'Can you imagine?' Pawlowski said. 'They’re trying to fit a guy in this little space — face-down, like head-down, upside down — and then they’re threatening me with assault while they’re assaulting me.'”
