Biblical Languages 301 Guidelines

This is where we come to delve into the biblical text. Theology is not our foremost thought, but we realize it is something that will be dealt with in nearly every conversation. Feel free to use the original languages to make your point (meaning Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic). This is an exegetical discussion area, so please limit topics to purely biblical ones.

This is not the section for debates between theists and atheists. While a theistic viewpoint is not required for discussion in this area, discussion does presuppose a respect for the integrity of the Biblical text (or the willingness to accept such a presupposition for discussion purposes) and a respect for the integrity of the faith of others and a lack of an agenda to undermine the faith of others.

This is the funniest thing I've seen in a while:

    Here's the original English:

Sorry. I've heard of others not being able to see it but they thought it was because they were in other countries. But you're in California, which I believe is still part of the United States.

Well, it doesn't look like this thread on Disney songs has really taken off yet.

Perhaps some people would prefer to listen to part of the Epic of Gilgamesh sung in ancient Sumerian:

                  Notice the temporal clauses.

Here's what David's harp might have sounded like:

I was able to watch both.
The comments on the parody, were especially funny! -- especially the chat with Maria Papadaki

The commenters say there are a lot of pronunciation errors...

Is this modern or ancient Greek...and would that make a difference in the pronunciation?

Definitely makes a difference in pronunciation. There are differing theories of ancient Greek pronunciation and I'm sure if varied depending on geography and over time as well.
