Amtrak

Mrs CP and I just took an Amtrak ride from Chicago to Seattle. We've been on Amtrak for "daytime trips", but never overnighters.
It was interesting.

Meals on the train were actually quite good - especially the steak.

The Bedroom was, admittedly, a bit cramped, but in the daytime made for some very nice "watching the world go by" out our window, having coffee in our room.
The Observation Car was interesting, you could sit in chairs facing the windows, or tables beside the windows where you could play cards or eat stacks or do some computer work.
I was "off the grid" the whole time except for Facebook posting, and actually enjoyed my time away from you Yahaws on Tweb.

We'll probably do it again.

I took my computer with me, but only opened it at the hotel stops --- but didn't even log on.

It was downright enjoyable.

And - that's our next big adventure, I think --- Scotland, since that's from whence my ancestors cometh. (cameth?)
