  • End Of The World

I thought these were humorous artifacts from the past eight years, apparently ever since Trump began climbing up the ranks in the 2016 primary. All of the predictions during that time and the succeeding years look about the same.

                Definitely.

There were more of these crazed opinion pieces but they were getting redundant.

Actually, I had this same nuclear fear initially. I remember telling people in 2016 that I didn't want this guy to have the nuclear codes since he was relatively untested. After about a year in office it became clear he wasn't a warmonger, I think it's the same with all rich people that they would have too much to lose in a nuclear exchange (so that goes for Putin, Xi and Kim as well). It is the non-wealthy political or religious zealots that I worry about.

Curious. Did you have the same sort of misgivings regarding Obama given that he was relatively untested?

A little. He was at least a junior senator and he hadn't rattled any cages. Did you?

He was known as "Senator Present" because the very few times he was even there to vote on something he tended to just vote "present."

I wasn't concerned he'd get us into a nuclear war but was greatly amused how we kept being told that Palin wasn't fit to be VP due to lack of experience -- but she had more (including being the governor of a state) that Obama did who wanted to be not the VP but the president itself.

I didn't pay much attention to the Palin part. But between Obama and McCain, I definitely viewed the latter as being more likely to get us into new wars. I voted Libertarian that year.

Putin's health issues are such that I would be more concerned with him than the others, whether in terms of his not thinking clearly, seeing his soon death as inevitable, or wanting an end to it all. But I'm not living in imminent fear of it.

That's right! Blast the children in other nations into eternity, or limbless misery as they lay crippled from "OUR" bombers! This does not jell." - Leonard Ravenhill

If he's losing his mind, then yeah, that would be a concern too. But he also has family, and people with children and grandchildren probably aren't keen on leaving a wasteland behind as an inheritance.
