The leaves have been turning for more than a month now. Every year I think it's too early, but this year in particular because we had a late spring. I despair because I love the red leaves, and most of the trees that are hardy around here are yellow. However, I have an amur maple, which turns glorious red in the fall. I took this picture a few days ago. Was too lazy to go outside, so I took it from my card studio window. When the sun shines on it the tree glows as if lit from within.

This is weather related, yes? The sun was shining! The second picture is the same tree, a few years ago.

Our peak time for autumn color is late October. My favorite colors are always the rarest ones, which used to be red but has been orange lately. There is never a shortage of yellow.
