  • Mrs CP and I hitting the rails like a couple of hobos

Been looking at Amtrak and thinking of spending some time on the rails.
Well, actually, in the train on the rails.

We had taken a short Amtrak ride from Seattle into British Vancouver, and enjoyed it.

This time, early November, we'll fly to Chicago, board the Empire Builder, and ride for 2 days to Seattle, then fly back to Houston.

Amtrak riders out there? Good experiences? Advice?

(Yeah, we have a bedroom on a sleeper car)

You're going to Palin's house in Alaska?

I'm always still in trouble again

Hah! I know there’s one in Washington, but I had to tease you.

I’ve always wanted to take the train from here through the Rockies to the coast. We just never considered it seriously enough to actually do it. Someday I’ll probably regret it, but that will pass once I go Home!

            Have a fabulous trip!

I wish I had applied for the Amtrak credit card FIRST - it comes with lots of perks and benefits, and if we like this first (actually second) train ride, we might do this more frequently.
And, yeah, we're looking at several options into and across Canada!

Then you'd better at least wave as you go by, mister!

Odds are you would be following the TransCanada Highway and it would be more southerly across the country. If you want polar bears you need to go to Churchill, Manitoba to see them. I myself have never seen one in the wild, but we’re only central Alberta. I'd have to go way north to the Yukon or NWT for that.
