Just don't silently pray in public.
I'm always still in trouble again

I'm envious! I would sneak off to Scotland.
You're just a hop, skip and jump away from the Scottish border. At least in terms of Alberta distances.

Last time I worked around Huntingdon (St Neots) the place was flat, wet, cold, and closed early (1990's). So....... London!
The A1 motorway runs straight through Huntingdon to London, but the North/South Rail service from Stations like St Neots can get you in to London (St Pancras Station) in about one hour and without the dreadful traffic snarl-ups. London can offer you such a huge amount of places to go/see that it's got to be a safe bet, and the London Taxis can take you anywhere you might want to visit.
British things? OK...... as far as I know, anybody can walk in to the Houses of Parliament to the upstairs 'visitors' gallery to see MPs screaming at each other, but it's 40 years since I did that and there may be security issues now......
Sunday mornings at Speaker's Corner, Hyde Park is totally blooming British and all manner of folks will be standing on orange boxes and howling about something or other, and the reason why this place is worth experiencing is because of the hecklers, who are quite unforgettable. People go to experience the hecklers....... never forgotten.
Museums any good? The Natural History, Victoria and Albert, British Museum and more are all easy to get to if you just tell a cabbie (taxi) where you want to go.
Art? The National Gallery in Trafalgar Square is a good venue if that's your thing, but the cabbies would tell you of all the others.
One of the most amazing buildings to visit in Westminster Cathedral, the Catholic Cathedral half way between Parliament and Victoria Station. Although 'they' never got to decorate the ceilings the massiveness of the place and freedom to visit makes it a possible......... just to sit in the place is an experience. Westminster Abbey (right beside Parliament) is sometimes open, last time I walked in there the choir was practising and anybody could be moved by such sounds in that huge place.
One easy way of finding what you would really enjoy is to tell a cabbie what you would like to see, and then enjoy the journey to your perfect destination.
But if you are a part-time ornithologist then a Huntingdon marsh could be your heaven!

I would suspect the Cromwell museum might be worth a look. And if you get a dry bright day Houghton Mill looks charming."It ain't necessarily so

Our friend might eventually get to Edinburgh from Huntingdon but how long his journey would take remains unknown. He might be lucky of course and find some trains running on time with reasonably priced tickets available. I understand that some can still be found."It ain't necessarily so
