So has anybody have any tales to tell? We are just now being hit with sleet and snow here in the midwest. Not too bad, yet. But everyone is acting like it's the apocalypse.

I am mostly worried about the ice causing power outages. The power lines in my neighborhood are underground but the ones feeding the neighborhood aren't.

Now that the Weather Channel is in the habit of naming winter storms and superstorms, maybe they should start naming periods of calm mild weather.

Not that I remember. Maybe only the really big ones like this one.

Temp here is just at freezing right now. so far not much ice on the trees that I can see, but the roads and grass are covered with what looks like snow but is really sleet.

My backyard deck. We got somewhere between 6 and 10 inches of snow. Lots of wind and drift so the official amount hasn't come in yet. Plus, we have another round coming tonight.
