I use my wife's little atv in snow and ice, and since I take her to and back from her work at the local vet surgery I can use it.
The EV forum that I visit has reported that freezing weather does reduce Lithium efficiency and range.
Very fast (50watt) charging can reduce Lithium life-spans, so long distance travel is a problem.
Running Lithiums below 20% capacity can reduce their life-spans.
Lithium fires are dreadful and out fire-brigade is still unsure of how to control or extinguish these.
Lithium replacement costs are huge. I have two 60v 20amp lithiums in my little EV and replacement of just one is now £650, and car lithium could cost over half of the car's showroom value.
On street recharging is a huge problem because cables cannot run across pavements.
So I do like my little vespa, but hybrids with big batteries seems to be the best choice at present.
