At one of the border crossings in south Texas, they had a sheet with pictures and descriptions of various materials leather could be made from so the agents could tell which sorts were legal or not. That was pretty interesting.
Hmmmm... never experienced that at the border... you mean like exotic boots? Elephant and such?

The sheet was inside the command center, so it's not likely you'd see it. I'm trying to remember what all was on it. Most snakes were fine, but some weren't. Sting ray wasn't allowed iirc (didn't even know you could get that). Ostrich, emu, alligator...I want to say gila monster? I know there were some lizards listed.
      I'm not here anymore.

Reminds me of one of Jerry Clowers' schticks....

Supposedly, Dinah Shore interviewed him once (or was on the same talk show) and she expressed horror at his lizard skin boots -- "Some poor creature had to die for you to have those boots".

Clowers responded "Lady, this lizard got run over by a Greyhound bus and I had to fight the buzzards off him!"

I have and did wear them, but mine were more working cowboy boots. If properly made they are good western riding boots when lived in Oklahoma and went Oklahoma State University. I no longer wear western cowboy boots.

I loath the designer exotic cowboy boots and they remind me of trying to where woman's high heels.

Glendower: I can call spirits from the vasty deep.

But will they come when you do call for them? Shakespeare’s Henry IV, Part 1, Act III:

Yeah, I don't 'work cattle' much anymore, and have noticed I rarely wear boots. I used to have a nice pair of dress boots for Church, but they got ruined in a flood, and I haven't replaced them.

Yeah, while I appreciate a fine pair of exotic boots, it can get to a point of ... um... sissification.

No. I'm from the burbs and I don't like country music. I have regularly worn combat boots though.

So you borrowed your mom's boots?
Atheism is the cult of death, the death of hope. The universe is doomed, you are doomed, the only thing that remains is to await your execution...

I wish my mom wore combat boots. That would be wicked!
